  5. Basmark QuickBASIC for UNIX is a Microsoft QuickBASIC-compatible compiler which
  6. generates true multi-user programs on UNIX systems. The product has a proven
  7. track record with ISVs and VARs as an effective migration tool, permitting the
  8. re-use of DOS-developed BASIC application code without the need for
  9. re-development. In support of open systems, the compiler operates consistently
  10. across a wide range of machine architectures and UNIX versions. Multi-user
  11. facilities include file sharing (with file and record locking),
  12. TERMCAP/TERMINFO screen handling, and inter-process communication. The compiler
  13. generates assembler and object code for maximum performance and security. Code
  14. and data space can reach system limits. External libraries are easily accessed
  15. via the CALL statement, and an example (interface to Informix C-ISAM) is
  16. provided.
